Quotas & Limits
Every Pinner account has quotas that govern how much you can upload, download, and store. These keep the shared infrastructure fair for everyone.
Quota types
| Type | What it limits |
|---|---|
| Upload | Bytes you can upload per month |
| Download | Bytes you can download per month |
| Storage | Total bytes of pinned content you can store |
Limits are evaluated over a monthly window by default. Check the dashboard or API for your current plan's exact limits and usage.
When you hit a limit
If an upload would push you past your storage or upload quota, the request is rejected with an error like storage quota exceeded or upload quota exceeded. The response includes your current usage, the requested bytes, and your limit so you can see how much headroom remains.
Checking your usage
Use the dashboard to see your current usage and remaining quota. You can also query the API for per-type byte counts and effective limits.
